Louisiana Wetland Project

In 2003, The Dale Earnhardt Foundation was one of many environmental organizations and foundations that supported a Ducks Unlimited project for the restoration of earthen dams that protect 58,000 acres of wetlands in Southwest Louisiana.

This facilitated preserving the wildlife habitat of over 900 species. The success of the project was proven following the impact of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, as the dams survived the storm damage and subsequent floods.
