Feed The Children

On October 14, 2004, The Dale Earnhardt Foundation sponsored a Feed The Children semi tractor-trailer truck of food, milk and personal care items to help needy children and families in the Mooresville/Iredell County area. The delivery was part of the Foundation’s partnership with international hunger relief organization Feed The Children.

During the 2004 racing season, The Dale Earnhardt Foundation sponsored twenty Feed The Children food distributions at feeding agencies in or near communities where Dale Earnhardt raced during his illustrious Cup career. The Foundation had already sponsored seventeen similar distributions in the racing season. When the season was completed, more than 450,000 pounds of food and personal care items were distributed to some 10,000 children and families in sixteen states.

In recognition and honor of Dale’s memory, staff and employee volunteers from Dale Earnhardt, Inc. were on hand that day to help distribute food boxes to the eligible families. Following the distribution, the Dale Earnhardt/Feed The Children tractor-trailer truck was on display at the DEI Corporate Headquarters and then at Lowe’s Motor Speedway during race weekend activities.
