Corinne Hindes - Warm Winters

Walnut Creek, CA

When Corinne was 11 years old, she saw a man who was homeless on the streets of her hometown, wearing only jeans and a t-shirt on a freezing cold day. Immediately, Corinne felt a need to help him. Growing up as a ski racer, Corinne came up with the idea to take the warm coats, hats, gloves and scarves left in the ski resort’s lost-and-found, and donate the clothing to a local homeless shelter. In 2011, Warm Winters was born.

Today, hundreds of Warm Winters youth volunteers collect clothing from 36 ski resorts in North America. Volunteers also do sock, coat, and toiletry drives to help their local homeless community members. They have delivered over 58,840 items to 45,000 people in need, and are still growing! Now in college, Corinne speaks to students in schools everywhere about giving back, inspiring them to make a difference in their communities.
